Henrietta Pettijohn Award 2023
The New Mexico Women’s Bar Association invites your nomination for the annual Henrietta Pettijohn Award.
The NMWBA established this award to honor an attorney who over the years has been a trailblazer or made a significant impact in empowering women in the legal profession. We named the award after the first woman to be admitted to the Bar of the Supreme Court of the Territory of New Mexico, Henrietta Hume Pettijohn Buck, who made this lofty accomplishment on April 15, 1892. Henrietta Pettijohn was born in Columbia, Missouri. Ms. Pettijohn attended the University of Missouri and later established herself as a popular writer, publishing three novels. Ms. Pettijohn also served as an officer of the Bar Association.
Rising Star Award 2023
The New Mexico Women’s Bar Association invites your nomination for the annual Rising Star award.
Awarded for the first time in 2018, the Award recognizes a lawyer (out of law school five years or fewer), who is doing exemplary work and has bravely reached outside their comfort zone in a legal or personal sense to try to make a difference in our profession.
Please send your nominations for both the Henrietta Pettijohn Award and the Rising Star award to the New Mexico Women’s Bar Association no later than April 28 2023.
